Major Sites That We Visit

Now only three more days to go before we leave - must begin to pack.

Since this is a Marian Pilgrimage, we will focus on some of the most important and famous sites where there were visions of The Virgin Mary, including Fatima and Lourdes. Here are some of the major sites we will be visiting:

• Lisbon - Birthplace of St. Anthony of Padua
• Santarem - Church of St. Stephen - site of a 13th century Eucharistic miracle. 
• Fatima - Place where Mary appeared to three children - Basilica of Our Lady and the Carmelite Convent where Sister Lucia lived.
• Avila - Home and Carmelite Monastery of St. Teresa of Avila, mystic and Doctor of the Church. 
• Zaragosa - Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, the place where Mary appeared to the Apostle James.
• Lourdes - Probably the most famous of all shrines to the Virgin Mary, where She appeared to the young girl Bernadette. We'll visit the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Rosary Basilica and the Grotto.
• Barcelona- Basilica of the Sagrada Familia (by Gaudi), the Gothic Quarter and the "Spanish Village".
• Avignon, France - Palace of Popes, St. Bernard Bridge and Cathedral Notre Dame des Dorns.
• Palma De Mallorca - Jewish section and Palma Cathedral.
• Montserrat Monastery
